Enrollment and admission to primary school

Dear parents,

we are pleased about your interest in Mozaika. We support children from birth to the age of 15. We will happily provide the opportunity for us to get to know each other better to make sure that Mozaika is the place you are looking for for your children and yourself.

How to prepare for enrollment

Which primary school you choose for your child is an important question. Therefore we recommend that you take part in the following events and activities, which we consider important in the decision-making process and preparation for school:

• Consultation on the child´s progress in Mozaika Nursery in autumn and spring
• Evening on the topic of Montessori primary school
• Evening with Montessori na vlastní kůži
• Evening on the topic of how students are doing: Jak to chodí u studentů
• Student´s opening
• Evening on the topic From Nursery to School
• Respectful communication course for parents, e.g. Výchova bez poražených
• We recommend that children complete the Maxík pre-school preparation program

Number of places in the School

The number of places can affect the postponement of school attendance, admission of children to grammary school, possible repetition of the child´s year -  especially for health reasons, and other circumstances.

From September 2024, there will be probably 8 free spaces in the first year.

Criteria for admission to the first year of primary school are as follows:

Admission Criteria:

• The child attends a nursery with the same or a similar focus of SEP as Mozaika (max. 2points).
• The child meetsthe perequisites for education according to the SEP of Mozaika (max. 4 points). It will be verified by the teacher during a personal meeting with the child, ideally at enrollment.

Additional criteria:

• The child has siblings at Mozaika Primary School

Children will be admitted to basic education in the order of the number of points obtained within the main criteria in the case of the same number of points according to the additional criterion. If, due to the limited capacity of the primary school it is not possible to accept all children, the decision will be made through a draw if the criteria are met. The draw is conducted by the Head teacher in the presence of one member of the school board, the legal representatives concerned will also be invited. Children´s registration numbers are drawn, a written record is made of the drawing and the result will be made visible on the school building and published on the school´s website.

The condition of a child´s admission to Primary school is the conclusion of an agreement on the conditions of attendance, as part of regular enrollment, no later than April 11, 2024, and the payment of school fees for the month of September 2024 according to the conditions specified in the agreement.

The criteria were established on the basis of Decree No. 435/2022 Coll., on basic education and certain requirements for the fulfillment of compulsory school attendance, as amended. In accordance with Decree No. 435/2022 Coll. we set the lowest number of points for admission, namely 4 points.

Documents for extraorinary enrollment during the 2023/2024 school year

To apply to our primary school download and fill out the following documents:

• application for admisson of a child to basic education
• student´s personal sheet
• informed consent to the processing of personal data
• consent with the acitivities of the school psychologist
• application attachment - acceptance criteria

The above documents must be attached for verification (verified by an administrative employee):

• child´s birth certificate

The application for child´s admission (together with other documents) can be delivered to our school in one of the following ways. As part of the regular registration, delivery is scheduled from April 4, 2024 to April 11, 2024.

1. to the school data box (box ID: xkwdh75),
2. by e-mail with a recognized electronic signature (you cannot just send a simple e-mail) to the address: podatelna@montessorimozaika.cz,
3. by post to the address: Základní škola a Mateřská škola Mozaika, školská právnická osoba, Myšlínská 30, 251 64 Mnichovice,
4. personally to the school office,
5. or by dropping it in the mailbox at the entrance gate to the school.
